½ cup light brown sugar
1½ tbsp ground cinnamon
4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Pinch of salt
French Toast Rolls
10–12 slices of white bread or sourdough bread, crusts removed
2 large eggs
½ cup milk or heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp granulated sugar
Pinch of salt
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
½ cup granulated sugar
1½ tsp ground cinnamon
For Cooking
3–4 tbsp butter, divided
Optional Drizzle
½ cup powdered sugar
1–2 tbsp milk or cream
½ tsp vanilla extract
Prep the Bread
Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin. Roll tightly and set aside.Make the Cinnamon Filling
In a bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, melted butter, and salt until smooth. Set aside.Make the Custard
In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, and salt until smooth.Dip & Cook
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Dip each roll quickly into the custard and place seam-side down in the pan.
Cook, turning gently, until golden brown on all sides (about 2–3 minutes per side).Cinnamon Sugar Finish
Toss warm rolls immediately in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.Drizzle (Optional but Encouraged)
Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls.
Best eaten warm
