Long before its release, popular filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s new project, ‘The Odyssey’ was garnering massive social media attention due to what can only be described as quite interesting casting choices.
A very influential piece of ancient Greek classical literature that has survived over 2,800 years that was a key block of the foundation of the West. And Nolan not only decided to cast no Greeks in the film, he quite intentionally let it be known he was crafting the cast roster for this ensemble film using the new Woke Mind Virus guidelines of the Academy that puts on the Academy Awards and hands out the Oscars.
Ostensibly, Nolan has supposedly bent the knee to Hollywoke at last, so this film is being cast [pun intended] as his blatant attempt to check all the boxes on the Academy’s Woke Checklist that any films to be considered for a top Oscar such as Best Picture or Best Director must meet.
We’re told Nolan made this film the way that he did because he wants his project to be considered for the top Oscar categories.

The Academy has made it quite clear in recent years that films that do not rise to the standards of their Woke Mind Virus checklist will not be seriously considered for a top award.
But what makes the ‘Nolan’s just finagling for a big Oscar win with this absurd film!” theory sort of incoherent, is that Nolan just won THE two big Academy Award categories just LAST YEAR when his film ‘Oppenheimer’ won both Best Picture and Best Director.
This is the guy who made films like Memento, The Prestige, Interstellar, Inception, Tenet, as well as the Batman Trilogy. While the most of Hollywood caught the Woke Mind Virus, he seemed to be doing pretty okay just focusing on movies that were original and though-provoking instead of trying to make political lectures to the audience.
So its kind of hard of me to get onboard with this theory that Nolan suddenly ‘went woke’ and decided to race/gender swap main characters in a film of this nature because he needs to do it to win Oscars or something.
He’s already got the Oscar thing out of the way with Oppenheimer. What if that freed him up to do a bit of trolling the absurdities of the Hollywood Woke Machine?
I posited an alternative theory about what Nolan is doing casting his film and shooting it this way in my last column, linked here.
I strongly suspect this extremely talented filmmaker did not make this film to bend the knee to Hollywoke, but rather to troll the people who have been increasingly putting the creative talent in the film industry into ever-tighter ideological straitjackets from which many of them yearn to be free.
In other words, winning more Oscars or making a super-smash financial hit was not really why Nolan made this film. He made it to choke the Hollywood Woke Shit Machine to death.
However, just because Nolan trolled them doesn’t mean the studio doesn’t want the film to turn a profit. They do. After all, if you can’t convince the teeming masses to go see your new woke shit movie, what’s the point of making it?
And so the studio has taken action to try to convince the public that the controversies over the film’s casting and deviations from the classical story are way ‘overblown’.
The film landed in theaters yesterday, and so the social media influence campaign to convince people to go see it now well underway.
Understand the time you are living in.
Part of the marketing strategy for films in these days now deliberately includes social media strategies to raise the public consciousness of your new film.
Even posts attacking the film raise the public’s awareness level of it.
I first became aware of the use of social media influencing campaigns to drive people towards or away from a new film back when Mel Gibson first released ‘The Passion of the Christ’ in 2004.
A serious, very large influence campaign was launched online at the time to try to drive people AWAY FROM seeing ‘Passion’. I had never seen anything like that before. Most of the posting I saw trying to influence people not to see the film turned out to be based on deliberate deception; scenes claimed to be in the film that were not.
I’ve seen the phenomena several times since, and now with Odyssey sailing into theaters, a massive new social media push has been launched, and many of you out there need understand there is BIG MONEY out there being spent to drive almost half the social media posting you are seeing currently.
A lot of political commentators on this platform who you think are just sharing their honestly-held opinions on current events are actually paid talking points readers selling their services [and access to their audiences] to the highest bidder.
If they happen to be personally aligned on the right, that just means they offer their services/audience on the right to the highest bidder who often **isn’t** on the right themselves.
Do you understand that sentence I just wrote?
Do you think someone who takes checks to read out talking points and deceive their audiences with ‘I’m just telling you what I think!’ bullshit is limiting who pays them ONLY to wealthy right-leaning people shopping for an audience for their talking points?
I’ve spent over 10 years studying this phenomena, the right-wing/conservative/MAGA social media influencer/celebrity figure who is surreptitiously selling their services and access to their audience to the highest bidder, and who often will end up taking money from very wealthy NeoCon Conservative Media, Inc. sponsors. Who sometimes don’t even live here in America. And they do not inform their audience that they are paid agents.
The people in the NeoCon UniParty GOP furiously trying to stop Trump, fracture MAGA, drive away America First, and kill the SAVE Act to protect their corruption make full and extensive use of the deceptive talking points readers still regarded in friendly fashion by any segment of the Trump base.
You can see the networks of these people if you know where and how to look for them. Some of them actually take foreign cash from governments and entities overseas, which is going to be massive problem for some of them soon, as they never publicly filed under FARA as being foreign agents. And they certainly never informed their audiences that they were taking this money.
Now, what does this have to do with the new Odyssey film?
Just this:
The same political/cultural social media influencers you think are MAGA-aligned, who gained your trust and who you think have been just sharing their honest opinions with you?
They are about to start strongly encouraging you to go see The Odyssey.
Take just 1 minute and think really hard why many of them are ‘sharing their opinion with you’.
Yeah.
Once you see it, you can’t ever unsee it.
