It’s been a while! Below are a few short updates that I am excited to share.
Last week (Dec. 10), I was interviewed on national television about the future of Hollywood, fears of creative job loss, and recent backlash to the creator behind so-called “AI actress” Tilly Norwood. Below is the NewsNation Live segment.
Other belated updates from this past summer:
I published a book review about Marina Hassapopoulou’s Interactive Cinema: The Ambiguous Ethics of Media Participation in JCMS: Journal of Cinema and Media Studies. (If you cannot access the full review and would like to read it, just let me know and I can send it to you). https://doi.org/10.1353/cj.2025.a967281
I co-organized two workshops at the ACM Designing Interactive Systems Conference (DIS ‘25) in Madeira, Portugal.
1. Diving Into the Ocean of Religious and Spiritual Design Research: a workshop exploring how contemplative traditions can inform critical design approaches to reimagine sociotechnical systems and cultural futures. https://doi.org/10.1145/3715668.3734166
2. From Dead-Ends to Dialogue: Third Workshop on Design Research & GenAI: a workshop looking beyond the binary of AI acceptance versus refusal, seeking more nuanced and imaginative pathways forward.

That’s all for now. Until next time!
