A Poem

Beneath the scorn of Sherburne's sky,
Where truth and justice quietly die,
A father stands, with heart aflame,
To fight for his children's name.

Thirteen years their love was spun,
A tapestry beneath the sun.
But venomous truths in silence crept,
And lies, like sorrow, wept.

The mother, veiled in bitter guise,
Spoke sweet deceit with honeyed lies.
Through courts, her web of deceit was spun,
To break the bonds, victory won.

With tales of peril falsely spun,
She painted him a darkened one.
CPS, her chosen sword,
Echoed her lies, her voice restored.

The eldest child, a daughter dear,
Her innocence was lost in fear.
Transitioned, without consent,
A pawn, a message harshly sent.

And yet the father, steadfast, bold,
Clung to love that would not fold.
Through lawfare's maze, through courts' disdain,
He bore his cross, embraced the pain.

“Why, oh why, must children bleed
For selfish hate and greed's own creed?
Why must the innocent pay the price
For broken vows and spiteful vice?”

The judges turned a blindfolded eye,
To lies that festered, truth denied.
In Sherburne's halls, corruption reigned,
And justice bowed, its honor stained.

But though the mother sought to win,
Her war was waged on fragile kin.
The children bore the weight of strife,
Their minds, their hearts, their very life.

For years they lived in shadow's clutch,
Bereft of love, denied his touch.
Their spirits torn, their hope betrayed,
A father's love left in the shade.

Yet still he fights, unyielding flame,
To mend their hearts, reclaim their name.
The years may pass, the trials grow long,
But truth will rise and right the wrong.

To those who wield the gavel's might,
Who choose the dark, forsake the light,
Beware the man who will not fall,
Whose love for three outlasts it all.

For in the end, though shadows creep,
Justice stirs from restless sleep.
And liars’ reign will crumble, fraught,
By truth, unbroken, dearly bought.

Let this be sung through future days,
Of a father's love, a children's praise.
"The Ballad of the Stolen Three"
A saga of loss, yet love set free.
