Overcoming Emotionally-Challenging Experiences Process

Overcoming challenges is easier to face than absolute certainty.

I’ve spent many years being overcome by the resistances and fears that naturally come up for new or troublesome experiences. I deflect my intentions by “proving” that something is impossible, or too hard, or insurmountable, or the tables are turned against me.

And here is the revelation that you can use for yourself: See it as emotionally challenging rather than an absolute way of being.

If I am worried about doing edits for my fantasy novel, I can choose to see it as simply a challenge in front of me, yet to be overcome. Right now, I am feeling really well in most aspects of my life, so I’ve overcome every challenge I have ever faced up to this point.

Why not see the edits as an overcomeable experience, rather than a wall of certainty when I didn’t feel like editing, or what’s the point of editing, or I hate editing?

For me, I recognize that it is simply a challenge to my emotions, whenever apathy or fear or whatever comes up when I think about my projects. The topics I can now translate into emotionally-challenging rather than debilitating is true for visibility, business processes, communication, and writing Substack posts.

This is why I am here telling you about it. I am actually enjoying thinking about the upcoming edits I am about to do for my Cat People Book 2 novel. I am enjoying the process of writing this article, and I am also excited to explore other possibilities with this new-to-me form of translating my fears into creativity and enthusiasm. Try the following process for yourself. Perhaps you have no problem with problems. Yay you!
