When my wife and I swapped Madrid for Galicia, we were willing to suffer the long, damp and blustery Galician winter to savour its glorious summer. But since the arrival of our daughter in 2022, most of our summers have been spent visiting grandparents and in-laws in Ireland and Brazil. So I’ve been increasingly questioning my life choices.
But not this week.
