Well, after toiling in the book publishing field for two years now, I can’t express how fun it’s been to see the accolades and orders coming in:
If you don’t know it, Kirkus is a huge industry player in book reviews. They called TWF “An entertaining and trenchant case for humane workplaces and enjoyable jobs.” Yes, embarrassingly, I did need to look up what trenchant meant.
The list is curated by bestselling authors Malcolm Gladwell, Adam Grant, Susan Cain, and Daniel Pink.
InsideOut Design Leader Community, Allison Stadd, Netta Kivilis, Todd Boucher, Alyssa Towns, Kathy Oneto, and Mary Kate Stimmler who named TWF “The Most Radical Business Book of the Year” in a post that made me guffaw with joy.
I sold the Korean rights and we’re doing a print run in India. I loved getting a message from a reader who spotted it in a bookstore in Indonesia.

You know, I really needed to itemize all those wins. Thanks for indulging the parade. So many people asked me before the book launch how I would define success in the end. I was all over the map really, from saying “I know most books don’t sell, BUT I WANT TO SELL A MILLION COPIES AND DON’T TELL ME I CAN’T” to “I made art, and that’s enough.” I still toggle back and forth but where I’ve landed is this:
