The Wound That Became Access

The very thing that has been harming you and causing you pain can become the very thing that moves you forward with momentum and bring transformation.

Every wound we carry can now become a place where grace flows instead of death.

When Jesus was pierced on the cross, one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out (John 19:34). It fulfilled the prophecy in Zechariah 12:10: They will look on Me whom they pierced and revealed what Isaiah 53:5 had already spoken: “He was pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed.”

Just as the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place; and the rib which the Lord God had taken from the man He made into a woman (Genesis 2:21–22), in the same way when Jesus’ side was opened, blood and water flowed out, birthing His bride, the Church.

From the beginning it was not good for man to be alone. And now, through Jesus, we never are.

Because of what He did, we have access to God, to come boldly before the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

Our wounds no longer end in death. They have become the very places where grace begins to flow.

Take all your pain and suffering and turn it into strength and weaponry. — Killswitch Engage
