Attending UBI's first graduation in two years

Saying goodbye at the train station this morning

I'm on the train traveling across Ukraine today. I'm headed to Kyiv to attend UBI's first graduation in two years. This will be my first time back since our family drove away from our apartment on February 14, 2022, ten days before the war started.

It's hard to believe it's been that long. I can't wait to get there and see so many faces I've missed so much. To visit our congregation. To see our apartment.

I wish this could have been a trip that the whole family could have taken, but it's still not the right time for that. While I'm gone, however, our good friend Natasha is visiting Katie and helping her with the kids. We haven't seen here since fall last year, so we've very glad that worked out.

My trip will take two trains: a short two-and-a-half-hour train from Košice across the border to Chop. Then from there, an 18-hour train to Kyiv. Lord willing, I'll arrive to Kyiv around 8am Tuesday morning.

In Other Thoughts

UBI is in its last week of class before the summer break. This has been an unusual and challenging school year, but by God's grace we have made it through. We have been working very hard on next year's schedule, and we have some exciting details to share regarding those plans in the next UBI update.

This week, Rob is teaching the last class of the year, “Church Planting.”

We have purchased our tickets to to the States for the summer. Lord willing, we will be traveling around to see friends, family, and sponsors between July 10th and the end of August. We look forward to seeing many of you soon!

Last week, Katie and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary. The Hindmans were kind enough to babysit and give us a nice evening out. We praised God together for these amazing and unpredictable years.

Until Next Time

As always, we thank you for your love and constant prayers for our family and our work. Please keep my travels in your prayers. Pray God uses this trip for His glory and His purposes. As always, you can follow us on Telegram for more frequent updates on our work and travels.

Until next time,

Brandon
