Pride is the ultimate Sin

I read arguments in some comments while scrolling TikTok last night (Lord forgive me).

Funny enough, it was between Christian denominations. Whose faith is “correct?” They debated. “Call out [influencer] for dismissing the Eucharist!” Hmm, sounds eerily familiar to “stone him!”

Stick with me here, I’m making a point about human nature.

Jesus was the biggest protagonist in human history and he chose 12 “good for nothings” by human standards.

Sinners and tax collectors.

NPCs as our “red-pilled” brethren call it.

But he built them into leaders to reach nations and share the gospel. Jesus didn’t teach any type of discrimination, he modeled humility in its ultimate form.

• Love thy neighbor.

• Turn the other cheek.

• Walk an extra mile with ‘em.

And most notably, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do (Luke 23:34).”

True enlightenment and salvation isn’t separation from the “NPCs,” my friend. It’s bringing them on as a role player through our unique gifts.

Not everyone will make it. Not everyone will accept your grace (or His). That’s part of the Game called Life, but a strong family or community creates a unified reality and playing experience.

So drop your pride. It is a function of the ego, the weakness the devil uses to manipulate you.

I see too many comments from people looking to disprove others (brothers even).

It’s sad.

Orthodox Christians vs. Protestants on TikTok for example.

• Who’s right?

• Who’s wrong?

Bruh, who cares?!

All believers are saved by faith. Why argue over details? Are you no better than the Pharisees nitpicking?

Don’t pull others down so you don’t have to put in the effort to be better. It’s a lack of responsibility.

Ironically responsibility doesn’t focus on the “self”. It’s not selfishness that saves you.

It’s self-sacrifice that we find meaning in life.

Look at that. It’s a reflection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We can never measure up to his glory but we can walk in his name.

My friends, let’s be better than this. Bickering online about whose stick is longer is a game reserved for our children. Let’s teach them to be humble and serve because that’s why we’re here.

Not to “build wealth,” or “find happiness.” Those are byproducts of service and sharing your God-given gifts.
