Hey Seekers,
In today’s Writing the Heart video, we’re circling back to the very end of Cheryl Strayed’s epic, heartfelt memoirWild.
I share a bit about what I think makes this final passage so powerful. This kind of depth can only happen when we stop trying to micromanage our words and we simply let the subconscious take the wheel.
I’m also sharing a fresh prompt inspired by the book’s final line.
My invitation for you this weekend is simple: just tell a story based on this work we did this week.
Don’t overthink it, and try not to worry about whether it’s “good” or not. Just follow whatever memories and words bubble up. See if you can drop yourself right back into that scene, and then see where it takes you. We’ll get into the mechanics of storytelling craft down the road here on Writing the Heart. For now, just let the story rise from the depths.
The new video and prompt are right below for paid subscribers.
If you’re enjoying these Writing the Heart videos twice a week and want to support this work, I’d love for you to consider becoming a paid subscriber to The Seeker. That way, you’ll be sure to get every Writing the Heart video I create for you.
Thanks so much for being here,
Brad
