Remember when governors, following the proclamations of Dr. Fauci, prevented those who lost loved ones--like my mother--from having a proper funeral filled with the myriad of friends and family whose lives they so positively touched over their many decades? Remember when funeral homes were compelled to only allow immediate family to briefly hold a wake, denying them the proper memorials their precious and meaningful lives so deserved? And, of course, remember how they were forced to die in strange hospital beds all alone because it was “too dangerous” for loved ones to visit them and comfort them in their final days?

.

While that was happening, Democratic Party politicians were given a special dispensation for “essential travel” by DC mayor Bowser to attend the funeral of Dem. Represenative John Lewis in Atlanta...as if a virus conforms to the dictates of political edicts. While tens of thousands if not more who, when not locked down in their homes, were begging to visit parents in many cases for one last moment before they died, Gavin Newsom (the same man arresting lone paddleboarders in Malibu) was yucking it up maskless and elbow-to-elbow at Napa bistros while Nancy Pelosi was sneaking into beauty parlors to get her hair done.

This is one of many reasons why Dr. Fauci--whose own diary entries show he didn’t even believe his own b.s., but so long as he pushed it, fame and fortune were his reward--is perhaps the most hated man in America these days. If this country rewards those who foisted such a cruel madness on the rest of us by returning them to power, then more the fools us. A people get the government they deserve.

.

I’d like to think this anger that tens of millions of Americans have felt for years—and only further inflamed by Dr. Fauci’s revelations of mendacity by his own admission—trancends politics. After all, both Republicans and Democrats had similar heartbreaking experiences. And it wasn’t just Republican kids confined to bedroom Zoom “learning” while denied some of the most precious memories of their lives for a lie. Yet even now, with the folly of their blind trust in the institutions that lied to them, and the propagandist media that pushed the lies, some still refuse to feel similar outrage…because it would be seen as party betrayal just shows how tragically politicized and polarized we have become.
