I love a waltz. I’ve been partial to them ever since I heard The Waltz of the Flowers from the Nutcracker Suite when I was a kid. I even played a dumbed-down version of that waltz for my ninth grade piano recital piece. I botched the opening and had to start over, but I still love that waltz.
I love Strauss waltzes, especially the Emperor Waltz and (of course) the Blue Danube. But my favorite waltz is the sweet and poignant waltz Married Life from the movie Up, by Michael Giacchino, which made me ugly cry when I first heard it during the movie.
Anyway, here’s a lovely wee waltz from Jim Murray (guitar) and Richard Lucey (accordion), who played it for us in Killarney last summer.
