One of the benefits of being a military lawyer is time around other military lawyers. It is generally a tough position to get. You have to be smart, know someone, or both (in my case, brain works well plus knew someone who got my application to the top)

I enjoy my time with other JAs (people think we are JAGs but its actually JAs - now you can be cool like me and know the truth) for the intellectual firepower in the room. I have seen some incredible lawyers in action, and every time I learn something new, or remember something I need to practice

The other benefit:

They usually have civilian jobs, so you get to learn something about something you would not have known before
