I have boxed for years under a former professional fighter. Have also learned Muay Thai as well as made a trip to Thailand before this Covid madness started. Both sports are challenging in their own ways but I think the average person would be able to pick up the basics in 6 months or less.
This is not so with BJJ. As of March 2022 I have about 14 months of experience rolling and I still feel like I’m not good enough. So why would I, a white belt, want to do this instead of wait until I’m a blue belt?
Easy, I will never ever be fully ready. I have rolled with purple belts that still don’t feel like they could hold a seminar like professional athletes like Jeff Glover.
Mike Cernovich as well as Jocko Willinck inspired me to take up the sport. It’s my hope I inspire you to take it up.
