Here's the dirt: The highs and lows of my land buying and how it can kill you or make you rich.

When investing in Real Estate, be careful about the land you buy to live on or build on. I received a crash course over the last few years of what to buy and what not to buy. Unfortunately for me, it was a “learn by doing” experience, and not a very passive “learn by reading” one. Some of the land/lots I purchased in the Smoky Mountains…well, let’s just say I’ll be stuck with them for a long time. Some were great investments, some not so great. As I mentioned in the last Newsletter, this will be about a 6 part series of my new Real Estate Venture. I wanted to dig into a few more details of buying the right piece of land and some of the MAJOR complications that can arise. You can 100% get sideways fast if you buy the wrong land. I don’t care how pretty the pictures of it look online.

I was first introduced to land by my dad. My dad’s side of the family grew up on some fairly worthless land in North Florida. Dirt roads and swamp land. That is until Peyton Manning and his family bought a big chunk right next to ours and I watched a series of catastrophic events unfold with one of my uncles.
