What is the RSP?
The Boston Congress of Public Health Research Scholars Program (RSP) pairs aspiring public health professionals, clinicians, and scholars with a dedicated faculty mentor for 12 weeks of one-on-one support, from shaping a research question to submitting for publication. Activities are as follows:

  • Together, RSP mentors and scholars will co-produce at least one manuscript and one poster, with the goal of submitting one or more manuscripts for peer review and, with acceptance, publication in the BCPHR, the Boston Congress of Public Health Review.

  • Mentors and scholars meet weekly to review ongoing deliverables and track completion of objectives.

  • RSP Scholars present their poster in a live webinar to a national audience.

What types of projects can be pursued through the BCPH RSP program?
Scholars are invited to conduct projects addressing public health issues through the lenses of justice and equity. We have mentors with experience in addressing clinical treatment and care, behavioral health, maternal and child health, cognitive function, LGBTQ health, and more. A sample of projects that have been published through the program so far include:

In addition to the national webinar presentations, several abstracts based on this work have been submitted and selected for competitive national conferences, including the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting & Expo!

On May 21, we celebrated five years of independent programs, fellowships, awards, training, and publishing at our first-ever BCPH Gala—where we honored our 40 Under 40 Public Health Catalyst Award winners in person.

That work only continues with you. The BCPH Friends Fund keeps our fellowships, podcasts, and public health programming independent and in the hands of the people doing the work. Every gift counts, and you can start with just a dollar.

$1 keeps the mic in the right hands.
