Celebrate Juneteenth this Friday, at 11:30 AM, with the premiere of the podcast, “Beyond “Non-Adherence” in Diabetes Care: How Systems, Not Labels, Shape Outcomes for Patients with Chronic Conditions.”

BCPH Thought Fellow, Dr. Paola Acevedo, a Primary Care Clinical Pharmacist and Diabetes Care Specialist at Unity Health Care, sits down with Dr. Darlene Lawrence, a Family Medicine Physician, and Barbara Dominguez, a Family Nurse Practitioner, to discuss the notion of “non-adherence” among diabetes patients, exploring the role of healthcare access, insurance barriers, medication affordability, prior authorization requirements, social determinants of health, and systemic inequities in diabetes care and outcomes.

On May 21, we celebrated five years of independent programs, fellowships, awards, training, and publishing at our first-ever BCPH Gala—where we honored our 40 Under 40 Public Health Catalyst Award winners in person.

That work only continues with you. The BCPH Friends Fund keeps our fellowships, podcasts, and public health programming independent and in the hands of the people doing the work. Every gift counts, and you can start with just a dollar.

$1 keeps the mic in the right hands.
