hi everyone! i’m looking for some books i can get for my dad. he’s getting a surgery done this upcoming week and will be on rest for 4-6 weeks which is definitely a shift for him because he loves to stay busy. i wanted to get him some books to make his time at home a little more bearable. he does enjoy reading and especially loves thought-provoking, philosophical books but i wanted something that would be more accessible to him because he’s also an immigrant and english is his 3/4th language. he can read english pretty well though!
some books he’s recently read:
– 21 lessons for the 21st century by Yuval Noah Harari (I got him this recently, and he said he’s been enjoying it)
– Sea of poppies by Amitav Ghosh (This is one he said he’s been struggling with, language wise, but i think it really excited him to read a book from an Indian author, about India/South Asia so if there are any more suggestions about books like that, let me know!)
– Tuesdays with Morrie – Mitch Albom (he really seemed to like this one, so i was also thinking of getting another mitch albom book but wasn’t sure which one is best)
thanks in advance! 🙂
