Need a juicy memoir to devour during a stressful time

Hit me with your best memoirs by insufferable people or wonderful people in terrible situations. I have to go nurse someone after a brutal surgery and I am desperate for a book that captivates me. I loved The Sound of Gravel by Wariner, The Glass Castle by Walls, H is for Hawk by McDonald, Wave by Deraniyagala, and Mantel’s Giving Up the Ghost. Also war memoirs like Caputo’s Rumor of War. I even joyfully hate read Moshfegh, which I know isn’t a memoir but maybe that’s helpful.

If it’s a celebrity memoir, that might be okay but those don’t interest me as much as more ordinary people. TIA!
