I spent the entire recent obligatory maternal celebratory moment with the mother of my children. We spent a large amount of the day driving back from a wedding on the other side of the state, which was a fascinating cross-cultural study in it’s own right: a Latina bride and a Chinese groom in a Deep East Tejas ceremony. We spent the rest of the day doing whatever she wanted (which rhymed with work). And we did call our own maternal units to thank them for not smothering us in our cribs.
But I digress.
I came here to wish you belated happiness if you are mother and shame you for not calling yours (by phone or spiritually, whichever applies) if you didn’t.
And I have a Mom-related book recommendation for you.
If I were an evil capitalist scoundrel, this is where the paywall would be. All Book Shaman posts will always be free. Share this post with a novelist or writer of any kind whom you love or hate. I play for both teams. 😇 😈
Reading Recommendation
I read Last Mom Standing last year and enjoyed it immensely, despite the fact that it’s the absolute coziest zombie apocalypse novel I’ve ever read. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

How ‘bout you?
How do mothers figure into your current work in progress? (Asking for a friend, since the mother of my protagonist in the Temple of Vengeance had a really hard time.)
