PBOT has started resurfacing NW 23rd Avenue from Lovejoy to Vaughn: it’s a long time coming.
For years, this stretch of 23rd has been a gauntlet of potholes and deteriorating pavement. PBOT’s previous position was that resurfacing wouldn’t happen until the streetcar extension went in. That position has now been reversed, and the work is underway.
Credit where it’s due: Councilors Olivia Clark and Eric Zimmerman both pushed hard to get this project moving, and it shows. Thank you to both of them for making this a priority.
And thank you to PBOT for getting it done. I’m looking forward to smooth pavement, safe crosswalks, and a pothole-free stretch of one of Portland’s most-traveled neighborhood streets.
