Who’d have thought that control of Congress would come down to South Texas?

When I first got in this race, Washington insiders didn’t take our campaign very seriously.

They said a Tejano singer could never win a district Trump won by 18 points. National Republicans figured this seat was safe no matter who ran. Even some Democrats wrote Texas off.

But I’m not like most of the candidates who’ve campaigned in South Texas.

I walked away from a 30-year-long career in Tejano music to run for Congress because our community deserves a voice in South Texas. And together, we’re building a movement.

Not with some slick political strategy. With quinceañeras. Ranch halls. Backyard block parties. Church events. That’s where South Texas actually is, and that’s where trust gets built, one conversation at a time.

What we’re doing has turned TX-15 into a tossup. And the latest poll shows me leading De La Cruz by 6 points.

That’s no fluke. It’s what happens when you show up for people Washington stopped bothering to visit. We’ve put South Texas in play, and this is now the #1 House race on the map in Texas. The race that could very well decide control of the House.

But my opponent still has more money in the bank and a war chest she’s ready to spend down to zero between now and November. Staying on track to win this race is going to take more organizers, more ads, and more resources to keep showing up in every corner of this district.
