Jessica Heslop started uploading affirmation videos to YouTube in 2016 — the same year I did.

Since then, her channel has grown to more than 640,000 subscribers. We’ve been admiring each other’s work for nearly a decade.

Recently, I reached out and suggested we have a private Zoom call. Jess was thrilled to hear from me.

The conversation was amazing!

The time flew by. I’m still buzzing from it. That’s what happens when you connect with a kindred spirit.

Jessica and I create similar content, but each of us brings our own voice, style, and life experience to the work.

We both know the rewards and challenges that come with building a successful YouTube channel.

This experience reminded me of something important:

You don’t have to view people doing similar things as your competition!

Sometimes the people you think are your competitors are actually your future collaborators, supporters, and friends.

There’s a powerful gift waiting on the other side of connection!
