Bob · Bob’s Daily Morning Gratitude Substack

Monday morning, awake at dawn. A poor night’s sleep, yet I feel refreshed and look forward to the day ahead. Meditation and coffee in the early quiet are so grounding. Moving on to my keyboard, I feel the genuine joy of writing these reflective dribbles… Life is Good.

I find myself reflecting on the difference between meditation gratitude and journaling gratitude.

For me, Meditation Gratitude is the purest and most essential form. It clears my false mind of wants and desires, bringing my spirit into the NOW with a deep awareness that every desire is already met. In this meditative state, I am free of thoughts and free of self, experiencing no separation from all that surrounds me. No-self, no-Bob—just quiet coexistence with the NOW. This is a naturally flowing, heavenly state. For me, it doesn’t get any better.

Journaling Gratitude, on the other hand, sets my intention for the day. It is a tangible task—the act of writing my gratitude down as opposed to simply experiencing it. I often struggle to find words that capture these experiences or guide my thoughts, and journaling is rarely a thought-free process. However, there are times when the words flow through me rather than from me. In those moments, I am experiencing small miracles as my fingers fly across the keyboard, way ahead of my thoughts, and the dribbles just magically appear.

Both practices have brought me immense benefit, enjoyment, and a deep appreciation for the cycles of life.

Namaste, my friends. Wishing you a day of heavenly experiences.
