Hi!

How are you?

It finally stopped raining here in the mountains. The heavy rain has been a bit alarming, but it left the woods vibrant and green. I haven’t left the house for a week, and my body is craving a hike. I do make the most of the short pockets of time for walks down the driveway.

I took you along with me yesterday to capture the moment. Feel free to join me as I wander along my driveway, in joyful awareness of the moment.

  • Please forgive the gravel crunching underneath my feet.

I wish these pictures were scratch-and-sniff images! Remember those?

The smell was intoxicating, and the flurry of bees surrounding the wild rose bushes was captivating. I snipped a branch, full of blossoms, and placed it in a tall vase to keep on the porch dining table. It serves as my desk these days, as I can’t stand to move inside to sit at the desk in my dark bedroom.

The rain gave me the perfect excuse to “work” on my business. I am currently playing with my new website and capturing all the ideas and hits of inspiration.

During Gemini Season, it is easy to be overwhelmed by the amount of ideas, inspiration, and distractions. The season is ripe for learning and discovery, but sometimes input from the external world can be overwhelming.

To corral my thoughts, I put another table on the porch. A folding table, covered in brown kraft paper. It serves as a landing pad for all of my creative interests. My visual journals are spread on top, along with a plastic container of cheap craft paints, colored pens, pencils, and tempera paint sticks.

When it comes to my creative process, there is no apparent order or structure. My mother would be appalled at my mess. She required a spotless room, without excessive clutter.

Despite being trained to keep a relatively tidy home, there are no rules outside.

I keep my computer on the clean, eating table with my beautiful flowers to keep me company. My husband keeps me supplied with fresh flowers on the porch and throughout the house. Daily, he chooses a single flower to place in my tiny Italian vessel on my altar in the bedroom. Very sweet. 🥰

Currently, I am working on several projects and courses, each with corresponding notebooks. I set a timer for twenty-five minutes on my phone and attempt to focus on one of them for that short period.

In between my short focused time, I play.

  • Spread paint on the blank pages in my notebooks.

  • Gather images or text from a stack of magazines located on the floor.

  • Gaze outside.

  • Walk the driveway.

Throughout the day, I come back to my craft table. It grounds me and allows me to harness the mental swirl in my head.

The air flowing through Gemini Season is the perfect time to visit the Page of Swords. In this Rider-Waite-Smith version of the card, the imagery provides excellent visual cues for calming a chaotic mind. Notice how the young page stands on bumpy ground with turbulent, puffy clouds. The wind-bent trees in the background perfectly mirror the swirling thoughts or overwhelm that can occur at this time.

Allow the Page of Swords to offer its guidance to help you identify the root cause of your current stormy state. Taking some time with the images to reflect on ways to ground the spinning mental energy. Using the Page’s sword to clear the clutter and choose one specific task.

Card 1: Storm Clouds

What specific worry or obsession is causing your thoughts to spin out of control?

Card 2: Grounding

What practical action or boundary will help you anchor your mind right now?

Card 3: Clear Path

Which single idea or task could you focus on first to cut through the noise?

Feel free to use the journal prompts without tarot cards if you prefer.

“It is time for you to adopt a sense of discovery in your day-to-day life. Look closely at what kind of energy I want to give you, and find ways to use it. It can help open up a new path for you.” Liz Worth

I hope that Gemini Season is an opportunity to wander with curiosity throughout your days. May the winds of inspiration carry new ideas and interests without mental overwhelm or stress.

Breathe, ground, and enjoy.

Talk to you soon.

❤️ Blythe
