Quick little post now that we've mostly settled the popular vote and probably the seat count, pending expected recounts in Mushkegowuk—James Bay (4 votes difference), Mississauga—Erin Mills (20 votes), Burlington (40 votes), and possibly Sault Ste. Marie (118 votes), York South—Weston (144 votes), and Eglinton—Lawrence (167 votes). Aside from Mushkegowuk—James Bay however, I wouldn’t expect a flip in any.
As I hope is evident - these results are extremely disproportionate across the province. The Liberals received boosts in support everywhere - as did the Tories! - but the seat count barely shifted in their favour. This is easily the most unfair election result in my lifetime, and I lived through the travesty of the 1990s. I’m not even a Liberal and I find this cringe beyond belief.
As I did last election in 2022, I’ll be doing up a PR model of this election result.
