A quiet way to honour your thoughts and protect your sleep—without disturbing your partner.
1. Silently acknowledge the thought. Say to yourself:
“Okay, I see you, Thought. You matter. I’ve set time for you tomorrow. I’ll see you then.”
2. Use one of these quiet options:
- Keep a small notebook and pen nearby. Jot one word in the dark or with a penlight.
- Use your phone's Notes app with brightness turned down. Just type 1–2 words.
- Whisper a voice memo if it won’t disturb your partner.
3. If you can't write it down, repeat the thought in your head and promise to log it in the morning.
• Log the thoughts you remember into your Sleep & Thought Awareness Tracker.
• Revisit them at your scheduled Worry Time.
• Celebrate the fact that you respected your mind and your rest.
