An Inner Child Guide

Life gets heavy. These 5 playful exercises will help you rediscover joy, lightness, and healing.

Your inner child is the part of you that remembers wonder, play, and imagination. Reconnecting with it helps restore joy and ease, while also bringing healing to old wounds. These 5 practices are simple, fun, and powerful ways to return to your playful self.

1. Draw Like a Kid

Grab some crayons or markers and draw without rules. Let it be messy, silly, and free.

2. Dance It Out

Put on your favourite childhood song (or a silly one) and move without caring how it looks.

3. Snack Nostalgia

Eat something that reminds you of being a kid — whether it’s a popsicle, cereal, or candy — and enjoy it fully.

4. Play Outside

Climb, skip, swing, or play a simple outdoor game. Let your body remember fun without purpose.

5. Write a Letter

Write a short note to your younger self. Tell them what you wish they knew, and thank them for their resilience.

Your inner child is still with you. By playing, laughing, and reflecting, you can bring that lightness back into your life today.
