A new mural is going up in downtown Elk City. What I first thought was an iguana turns out to be a Mountain Boomer, Oklahoma’s state reptile. I’ll be sharing updates on this interesting mural on Mastodon.

Here are the headlines shared on Thursday, May 28, 2026.

Deadline Fast Approaching

Can’t make it to the polls on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, for the Oklahoma Primary Election? Then request an Absentee Ballot or Vote Early.

The deadline to request an Absentee Ballot for the Primary Election is 5 PM, Monday, June 1, 2026.

You can vote early on June 11 & 12, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and June 13, 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. A list of early voting locations is available on the Oklahoma Elections Board’s website.

Get more details on voting at https://oklahoma.gov/elections.html

Go Vote!

Unfortunately, voters who registered as independent will not be able to vote in the partisan primaries. However, there is a state question on the ballot that everyone (this includes independents) can vote on. So please go vote.
