I went for a walk on a Wednesday over a month ago from my place, down Mount Pleasant Road to Moore Park, eventually winding up at the Don Valley Brickworks by way of the Beltline Trail along Mud Creek. I love phtoographing around Trinity Bellwoods and Ossington Village either in black and white or colour, never get bored. One thing I haven't really done is shoot colour through Leica R glass, and I wonder what I was thinking, because the rendering looks gorgeous. Sometimes I revisit a photo walk route and do it again sort of, solo. I wanted to come back to Trinity Bellwoods and shoot again on colour film, in this case Pro Image 100 from Kodak Alaris. Eastman Kodak has been very busy with their distribution channels and dropped all sorts of film some familiar, some re-named due to Alaris holding onto the Tmax and Portra brand names. This was one of those days, where a film would make sense at the beginning of a photo walk but doesn't near the end. I ran with Kodak Tri-X because the weather forecast was calling for more cloud than sun but in the end we got way more sun than cloud. Lets roll the clock back for a blog post to a cool grey and grim very early May, I bought a new lens for my Leica kit, a classic actually, no, it's not a 50 F1.4 Summilux, it's a Carl Zeiss ZM Sonnar 50 F1.5 T lens, a recreation of the classic pre war lens formula that was available in Leica M39 and Contax mounts.
