Today, Architects have finally released their much anticipated new album “The Sky, The Earth, and All Between”. This is the first album from the band since 2022’s “the classic symptoms of a broken spirit” and features previously released singles “Seeing Red”, “Curse”, “Whiplash”, and “Blackhole”.
Sleep Token's got this wild promo thing going on right now that looks like they're hinting at new music. A few days ago, they posted their first-ever TikTok with this mysterious puzzle that sent fans to a website called "showmehowtodanceforever.com".
Recently one of my favorite YouTubers, Steve O’G, did a deep dive relisten of Sleep Token’s 2019 debut full length album “Sundowning”.
Yesterday, February 18, 2025, Sleep Token launched their official TikTok account and used their first post to direct fans to a website: https://showmehowtodanceforever.com.

I didn’t actually watch the Grammys, as I don’t listen to or care for most of the music that’s being awarded, but I did follow up with it on social media and on music blogs. One thing I noticed is that the mainstream music industry press still doesn’t give two shits about metal.
I can’t see the future, but I can definitely see that these bands are getting a lot of buzz in the alt-rock and metalcore scenes. If you want to get on board before everyone else, check out these bands now before they blow up this year! You can thank me later. 😉
Flamed Fury tagged me in the new Music Questions Challenge, which I responded to via my personal blog, Cool As Heck. Since it’s music related, I’m reposting it here as well! Questions and answers below!
The beginning of January was a little slow for me, musically speaking, but in the last couple of weeks I started listening to a few new bands and songs. Here's my January in review.
I received a mention from Jeffrey over at Static Made with a prompt to talk about a favorite concert memory. Since my memory is terrible enough that I don’t have enough details to fill a blog post about one single story, I thought I would put together the bits and pieces of memories I do have from the hundreds of concerts I went to in my late-teens and early-twenties.
This is a playlist of songs I’m currently listening to frequently, including bands like Grinn, Designer Disguise, Holywatr, and more…

This week, metalcore band Skylimit (Lauren Babic’s side-project of her other side-project of her solo career) released a new self-titled EP featuring 5 new tracks. The album doesn’t stray far...
Sleep Token often gets classified as metal (much to the chagrin of metal purists), but fans know that the band has more to offer. Their catalog is full of genre-spanning material that offers a little something for everyone. Here are some Sleep Token songs I think you will like, even if you don’t listen to metal.
Today’s fun Mastodon hashtag of the day is #ThursdayFiveList and the theme is album openers (first tracks on an album). These are songs that kick off an album in a great way and pull you in for the rest of the experience. This was my contribution for today.
I wouldn’t really call this a “predictions” post, but these are some of the artists and albums I’m looking forward to hearing in 2025.
Here are my most scrobbled artists for last week, December 8-14. Sleep Token and Bilmuri are still at the top. I listened to Jimmy Eat World's “Phoenix Sessions: Clarity” on vinyl. I also played some of Linkin Park’s “Hybrid Theory” and Saosin’s “Translating the Name”.
Somehow I missed this album when it came out in 2023, but I just came across it this week and it is fantastic!
Yesterday, Sleep Token won the Billboard Top Hard Rock Album award for ‘Take Me Back To Eden’.
Today’s music drop has some pretty diverse songs across the pop, rock, and metalcore genres. Most everything here is at least a few months old except the Novelists song which dropped yesterday! Enjoy, and let me know what you think by hitting me up on Mastodon!
Yesterday I got a surprise package. Not really a surprise since I ordered it for myself, but it was so long ago that I had forgotten about it. So I was very surprised and happy to open it up and see that it was the vinyl record set that Jimmy Eat World released from their 2021 height-of-the-pandemic, live-in-studio performance called The Phoenix Sessions.
These are some hand-picked albums, EPs, and tracks that released today, December 6, 2024!
