Dispatches from Ankle Level

Dear Porch Neighbors,

Everything I knew disappeared in one afternoon.
A nice lady handed my Rope to a hoo-man I'd never met.
He smiled a lot.

The other hoo-man scratched behind my ears exactly where I like it.
I decided not to panic just yet.
They opened the door to a Moving Bed.
I climbed in.
Mostly because I wasn't sure what else to do.

The Big Guy talked almost the whole ride home.
I didn't understand a single word.
But his voice sounded happy.
Mama kept reaching over to rub my shoulder.
That part made sense.

After a while I stopped watching the road behind us.
I started watching the two hoo-mans in front of me.
Sometimes you don't know where you're going.
You only know how someone makes you feel.

By the time the Moving Bed stopped...
...I wasn't wondering where we were going anymore.
I was wondering if these two hoo-mans were mine.
I think they are.
🐾 Filed from ankle level,
Tux

Come back next Wednesday.

I’ll have another story waiting.

Editor's Note from Big Guy:
Tux has been with us less than a week. He already thinks he's in charge. He's probably right.
