Big Guy put me in a harness and clipped a Rope to it and said we were going for a walk.
I thought we were leaving forever.
We walked past houses.
Past little dogs.
Past Big Dogs that don't bark.
Big Guy says they're called "deer."
I'm still thinking about that.
There were so many smells I almost forgot to keep walking.
Every tree had important news.
Every bush deserved a closer look.
Big Guy seemed to be in a hurry.
I wasn't.
Eventually we made one big circle.
Then something amazing happened.
Home was waiting for us.
I didn't know home could do that.
Now I understand.
Sometimes you leave...
...just so it feels good to come back.
I've decided Big Guy knows where he's going.
Most of the time.
