When a repair shop has a car waiting on the lift, it needs the correct part immediately, delivered fast enough to keep the workshop moving. Auto Partner supplies that reliability through more than 350,000 product references, 116 Polish branches and over 200,000 square metres of warehouse space.

Most investors ask whether a stock is cheap before asking whether the business deserves ownership. That order is dangerous. The Kick Out Step is the first layer of my Reject-First Investment Framework. It eliminates companies with weak customer value, false moats, unreliable owner earnings, poor management, dangerous debt or unrealistic valuation. Surviving does not make a stock a buy. It means deeper work may be justified.

Quick Snapshot

Customer value: More than 20 million parts across Poland support several deliveries per day, reducing costly workshop downtime.

Economics: 2025 revenue was about PLN 4.4 billion, with a 26.6% gross margin and 6.3% operating margin. Q1 2026 gross margin recovered to 27.8% and operating profit rose 56%.

Owner earnings: My preliminary normalized estimate is PLN 190–220 million. Cash conversion is weaker than profit suggests because inventory and receivables absorb capital.

Balance sheet: Including leases, net financial claims were roughly PLN 450 million after Q1 2026, around 2.0–2.4 times normalized owner earnings.

Main threat: Switching costs are modest. Larger distributors can compete on price, availability and supplier access.

Business Quality Score: Preliminary Kick Out Step: ~7.0/10

Auto Partner’s moat is logistics density, broad availability, purchasing scale, private labels and workshop relationships, not technological lock-in. Repair shops can switch, but doing so becomes unattractive when one distributor repeatedly has the required part and delivers several times daily.

Private labels contribute about 17% of sales, exports exceeded half of Q1 2026 revenue, and January-to-July sales grew roughly 11%. Yet the 2025 operating margin of 6.3% remained far below 2022’s 9.9%. Currency, product deflation and competition can reclaim value. Inventory still turned at about 133 days. The decisive issue is whether owner earnings per share can grow without working capital consuming more of the benefit.

Management Quality Score: Preliminary Kick Out Step: ~7.5/10

Founder Aleksander Górecki remains chief executive, while the founder-controlled family foundation owns about 43.6%. The share count has stayed near 130.6 million since 2020, so expansion has not relied on dilution. Management has invested in logistics, automation and private labels while keeping leverage manageable.

Concentrated control and incomplete compliance with Warsaw Stock Exchange best-practice provisions cap the score. Deeper work must test related-party discipline and minority-shareholder treatment.

These scores are preliminary and deliberately severe. Above 7 is strong, above 8 is excellent, and scores near 9 are reserved for rare businesses.

Valuation and Three Price Levels

These ranges show where expected return becomes reasonable, very attractive or exceptional, provided the thesis remains intact.

First Reasonable Buy: PLN 23–25. About 15–16 times normalized owner earnings, supporting roughly 8%–10% annual returns if owner earnings per share grow around 7%–8%.

Very Good Buy: PLN 19–21. About 12–13 times normalized owner earnings, supporting roughly 10%–12%, driven mainly by business compounding.

Fantastic Buy: PLN 14–15. About 9–10 times normalized owner earnings, beginning to support approximately 15% while pricing in a weaker outcome. A low price cannot repair structural margin erosion or poor cash conversion.

Reject-First Conclusion

Auto Partner survives as an Investable Universe candidate, not as a completed thesis. Customer value is concrete, growth is healthy, management is aligned and the balance sheet appears survivable. But the moat is moderate, margins can compress and owner earnings remain working-capital-sensitive. Deeper work becomes especially relevant inside the lower two purchase ranges.

If I Took This Company Deeper, I Would Study This First

Can exports and private labels keep growing while operating margins remain in the mid-single digits or better, without working capital growing faster than owner earnings?

That answer could change normalized owner earnings and every valuation range above.

Where the Deeper Work Continues

This article shows only the Preliminary Kick Out Analysis. Deeper layers continue testing customer behaviour, competition, owner earnings, management, capital allocation, valuation, thesis killers and monitoring rules.
