  • Jack Dorsey's Block Enables Bitcoin Payments for Millions of Square Sellers.

    Block, the payments infrastructure firm led by Jack Dorsey, has enabled Bitcoin payments for 4 million merchants globally using the Square Bitcoin feature of its point-of-sale platform, the firm announced on Monday. The integration allows merchants to accept Bitcoin at checkout with instant settlement via Bitcoin’s Lightning Network, with no fees until 2027. Sellers can automatically convert a portion of their daily card sales into Bitcoin as well.

  • Why Coinbase Sees Greener Pastures in Texas.

    Coinbase, the largest U.S.-based cryptocurrency platform, has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission Wednesday that it is leaving Delaware. We are reincorporating in Texas, which has become an increasingly attractive hub for innovative companies like ours. It’s a shame that it has come to this, but Delaware has left us with little choice.

  • Nigel Farage Pushes for a Bitcoin Treasury in the UK.

    Nigel Farage believes Bitcoin is the real deal, calling it scarce, secure, and impossible to inflate. Unlike regular money, he says, Bitcoin can’t just be printed into worthlessness. He’s even following Trump’s lead by bringing crypto into his campaign.

  • Hesperides University Launches World’s First Global Master in Bitcoin.

    Unlike most universities, which group Bitcoin under broader “crypto” or “blockchain” programs, Hesperides has created a curriculum focused entirely on just Bitcoin — its technology, economics, and societal impact. The program is aimed at professionals, entrepreneurs, and researchers seeking a deeper understanding of Bitcoin and its global ecosystem.

  • Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss to Headline Bitcoin Amsterdam 2025.

    The Winklevoss brothers’ participation comes at a pivotal moment. Earlier this year, Winklevoss Capital invested in Treasury, the euro-denominated Bitcoin treasury company that secured €126 million to acquire more than 1,111 Bitcoin and is preparing to become Europe’s first publicly listed Bitcoin treasury firm through a reverse listing on Euronext Amsterdam. Treasury also acquired Bitcoin Amsterdam and partnered with BTC Inc. to foster engagement, education and awareness of Bitcoin across Europe.

    A new report from Bybit’s Lazarus Security Lab has revealed that 16 blockchain networks possess built-in mechanisms that can freeze or restrict user funds, questioning how decentralised they really are.

  • Taiwan May Add Bitcoin to National Reserves.
    Taiwan’s legislature has urged the government to audit its Bitcoin holdings and consider the cryptocurrency for strategic reserves, potentially diversifying away from its reliance on the US dollar. Premier Cho Jung-tai, responding to legislative pressure, has pledged a detailed report by the end of the year.

  • Bitcoin ETFs Roar Back with $524M Inflows in Best Day Since Market Crash.

    Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) investments are showing signs of recovery, signaling a return of risk appetite following a record crypto market crash in early October.

    A woman, said by police to have bought cryptocurrency now worth billions of pounds using funds stolen from thousands of Chinese pensioners, has been sentenced to 11 years and eight months for money laundering.

  • Tether Surpasses $12,000,000,000 In Gold Reserves, Hires Top Traders From Banking Giant HSBC.

    The stablecoin company Tether says it has now amassed more than $12 billion in gold reserves as the firm reportedly hires two of the world’s top metals traders. Two senior traders of precious metals for HSBC Holdings, one of the world’s largest banks, will be assuming roles at Tether in the coming months, reports Bloomberg.

    China's National Computer Virus Emergency Response Centre (CVERC) accused the U.S. government of seizing 127,000 stolen bitcoin (worth $13 billion) that were originally hacked in 2020 from a Chinese mining pool.

  • Bitcoin User Pays Over $105,000 in BTC to Send Just $10.
    A Bitcoin user paid more than $105,197—slightly less than one BTC at the time—to send just $10 of the digital coin on Tuesday, according to blockchain data.
