Bitcoin’s Hashrate Growth In Context.
I was perusing mempool.space yesterday and noticed that the one week moving average of the hashrate on the network had reached 1.12ZH/s, which means that over 100 exahash has joined the network since the middle of September. That seemed pretty material to me, so I opened up the historical chart of hashrate and difficulty growth going back to the launch of the network and was a bit shocked at what I found. It took the bitcoin network almost exactly 11 years to reach the 100 EH/s milestone.
Global Money Supply Is Increasing, Supporting Bitcoin Price.
Now in 2025, that instinct for central banks to increase money supply at the first hint of trouble hasn’t changed much – and major central banks continue increasing money supply.

Crypto’s Big ‘Uptober’ Ends with a Whimper, Bitcoin Down 4%.
October is usually a time for Bitcoin to mount big gains, so much so that traders have named the month ‘Uptober.’ This year, though, the world’s largest cryptocurrency struggled. Bitcoin is down 4% over the past 30 days to nearly $110,000 on Halloween, according to data from Binance.
Bitcoin, Cryptocurrencies Fail to Rally as Fed Chair Sparks Cautious Sentiment.
Bitcoin (BTC) declined from $115,000, reaching the $110,000 key level on Wednesday, after the Federal Reserve (Fed) signaled cautious sentiment despite delivering a widely anticipated 25 basis points (bps) rate cut at its October meeting.
IBM’s Quantum ‘Cat’ Roars: 120-Qubit Breakthrough Pushes Bitcoin’s Encryption Risk Closer.
In a report published earlier this month, researchers at IBM reported creating a 120-qubit entangled quantum state —the most significant and most stable of its kind to date. The experiment, described in a paper titled “Big Cats: Entanglement in 120 Qubits and Beyond,” demonstrates genuine multipartite entanglement across all qubits—a key step toward fault-tolerant quantum computers that could one day run algorithms powerful enough to crack modern cryptography.
S&P Global says that the firm has a stable outlook for Strategy in the S&P’s first-ever BTC treasury company credit rating.
According to S&P Global, the rating reflects a business model that’s tightly focused on bitcoin, with limited dollar liquidity and a capital structure that’s heavily exposed to crypto volatility.
Why Nigeria’s Youth Are Ditching the Naira for Bitcoin.
Nigeria has rapidly emerged as one of the world’s largest crypto markets. Chainalysis data from 2025 shows Nigeria far outpaces its African peers. The West African country received over $92.1 billion in on-chain crypto volume in a 12-month period, almost three times South Africa’s tally. That growth ranked Nigeria 6th in Chainalysis’s 2025 global index. Further available surveys confirm a wide range of crypto usage. About 26.3 million Nigerians now use or have used crypto. Remarkably, Nigeria leads the world in peer-to-peer (P2P) crypto trading volume.

The Debasement Trade Has Gone Mainstream: What it Means for Bitcoin.
For years, investors have argued that money printing would weaken fiat currencies and push scarce assets, such as Bitcoin (BTC), dramatically higher. That view, once dismissed as niche, has now entered the mainstream in a big way.
Is the EU Bitcoin Race Starting? France Targets 420k BTC as Germany Weighs Reserves.
For decades, Europe’s wealth was measured in gold and bonds. Now, two of its largest economies are preparing to add something new to their strategic vaults.
