TEGA’S P.O.V:
Tega woke before his alarm.
He usually did.
For a few seconds, he remained still, eyes open, listening to the unfamiliar room gather itself around him.
The low hum of the air conditioner.
A vehicle passing somewhere below.
The faint scrape of furniture from the room above.
Then the call to prayer rose in the distance, thin at first, carried through the early-morning air.
