Albert Davis was born in Rush County in 1876. He was a teacher in local schools for several years. Davis was later admitted to the Indiana University School of Medicine, where he trained as a surgeon. By 1906, he had established his practice in Marion. In the same year, he married Nellie G. Nixon of Farmland.

During World War I, Davis served in the US Army Medical Corps, stationed in New York City. Returning to Marion. The doctor began his practice and served on many committees related to the growth and development of Marion hospitals. He died after a sudden illness in 1941.

In 1906, Davis married Nellie G. Nixon of Farmland. The young bride made quite a splash in Marion's art world. She was acclaimed in local society news.

“Nellie Nixon Davis is recognized as a leading artist in play interpretation and voice in Indiana, as well as in Chicago and New York. She shared her talents through her work as a voice instructor at the Marion Conservatory.”

Mrs. Davis later retired to her family home in Farmland, Indiana, where she died in 1969.
