Leftist Activist Named Delco Solicitor — A woman with a history of radical leftist activism has been appointed solicitor of Delaware County, Pa.

Lee Awbrey, who had worked in the public defender’s office, will replace Jonathan Lichtenstein.

The vote, last night, Aug. 20, by County Council was unanimous.

Speaking in favor of the appointment was Chris Welch (phonetic) of Havertown who is Delco’s chief public defender and represented a contingent of public defenders office.

Carris Kocher of Concord, however, pointed out that Ms. Awbrey after graduating from Berekley had paid positions with Greenpeace and Bernie Sanders.

Can those who want fair elections expect fairness in dealing with Delco?

That’s a fair question.
