Is it possible that both the AL and NL Manager of the Year awards will go to interim managers?
Think about it. When Alex Cora was fired, his Boston Red Sox were 10-17 with a .370 winning pct. Since Chad Tracy took over, the Sawx are 60-42, a .588 winning pct., and on their way to the postseason as the number 2 seed. In the National League, the Phillies were 9-19, a .321 winning pct., when Rob Thomson was canned. Since then, under Don Mattingly, the Phils are 63-39, a .618 winning pct. and seemingly on their way to the postseason either as a Wild Card team and/or possibly as the NL East division champ.
Neither Tracy nor Donny Baseball are locked up for next season. And while there is no guarantee that they will win, White Sox manager Will Venable is sure to get many votes; it’s impossible to ignore these two interims. While I don’t think he will get many or any votes, Mets interim manager Andy Green deserves a little love as well. He’s gone 25-24 (.510) since succeeding Carlos Mendoza, who went 34-47 (.420).
MOY votes are counted at the end of the season and before the postseason. In the interim, about 32 games remain.

The Brewers won their 81st game of the season yesterday. If they lose their remaining 32 games, they will finish at .500, a record which may be enough to win the AL West this year.
All eyes need to be on Philadelphia because they are on the verge in the NL. The Phillies have won 8 straight and are just two games behind the Cubs for the top Wild Card spot. The Phillies are also just 3.0 games behind the Braves in the NL East. While the Phils would still be a Wild Card player, they would have home-field advantage in the three-game Wild Card series if they can catch the Braves. This leaves a significant race for the final spot between the Padres, Arizona, and the Cardinals, and the Marlins, each basically a .500 team but not ready to give up.
