Bad Bunny sets a historic milestone as “DtMF” adds a 57th week at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart (dated May 2). This feat sets a new record for the longest command in the chart’s nearly 40-year history, surpassing the 56-week reign of Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber.
“Despacito” reshaped the Latin music landscape, with its Bieber-assisted remix propelling the song to a then-unprecedented 56-week command atop the Hot Latin Songs chart in 2017-18. It also spent a then-record-tying 16 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, signaling a major turning-point for Latin music’s global reach and setting the benchmark for longevity on the multi-metric chart.
Notably, “DtMF” breaks the record on Hot Latin Songs despite declines across streaming, radio and sales. In the April 17-23 tracking week, it earned 8.5 million official U.S. streams (down 5% week-over week), but still the most among Latin songs, according to Luminate. It adds a 42nd week at No. 1 on Latin Streaming Songs, and drops 29-36 on the all-genre Streaming Songs chart.
On radio, the track drew 9.2 million all-format radio airplay audience impressions (down 6%), ranking as the second-most-heard Latin song of the week, behind Maluma and Kany García’s “1+1” (9.3 million).
In sales, “DtMF” moved fewer than 1,000 downloads (down 2%), yet remains the week’s top-selling Latin song, earning a 17th week at No. 1 on Latin Digital Song Sales.
“DtMF” first reached No. 1 on the Jan. 25, 2025-dated chart and has yielded the top spot for just 10 weeks since — eight to Fuerza Regida’s “Marlboro Rojo” (in August-September and November-December), and two to Bad Bunny’s own “BAILE INoLVIDABLE” earlier this year. “DtMF” later surged following his Super Bowl Halftime Show performance on Feb. 8, a boost that helped send it to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 as well, giving Bad Bunny his second No. 1 on the all-genre chart.
