Little Update For The Little Newsletter

Last month, here on my little newsletter, I said that I was hoping for calm, for slowness. The desire to move with less urgency, and to not become consumed by the culture of lack or of want, was the wish for this coming year. And while that, still is the dream, I could not have, this past month and a half, had a busier start to the year. From wake up to bed my days are filled, with work, with obligations big and small and for which I have been mostly grateful to have. And yet, that slowness, I haven’t met yet. Hopefully I will soon.

And with that being said, this is just a short update, a little note to share with you some recent articles that I have published elsewhere and that I think y’all will enjoy.

First, my short piece on the native species, Yarrow, for the Bay Area Current’s column, “Meet the Locals.” I love my sister Cassidy’s illustration for this one.

Second, at the end of January, the Bay Area Current published a piece on the solidarity with Minneapolis Protest in the Fruitvale neighborhood of Oakland.

And finally, just last week, my brief feature on the arrival of breeding elephant seals which is a bit more odd of a story than I expected it to be.

Also, just a note on the zine…it IS coming! I’m setting aside some time next month to start working on prints and hopefully will get the first one out next month. If you want one, consider subscribing! I’ll be reaching out to those who have already subscribed for addresses and all that soon too!
