He wanted friends and family, so He started with a couple. He had a close relationship with the two of them. But, He needed them to be separated from Him so that they would have the free choice to choose Him. He allowed the Accuser to be the chief bad guy under strict control. He gave the chosen enemy time to make things really bad, then He sent the Flood to clean it up and give mankind a fresh start. It was a new special Training Place of Mankind with real bad guys, danger, and Truth, Love, and a potential close relationship with Him.
Then He chose Abram to be the father of His chosen people. Of course, they messed it really bad. They had to learn that they did not have it within themselves to save themselves. At the proper time, He sent His Son as Messiah to cut a New Covenant which would enable us to live out the Torah, and build personal relationships with him—like He had in the garden. He sent His Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) within each of us to provide the power and the knowledge.
By then He had built up an amazing prophetic story of what was coming to mankind on the Earth. We are living in that time of fruition. The end of the Training Place of Mankind is approaching swiftly. It is all coming to pass according to His Plan. He has His Messiah King in place, ready to go when it is time. He has the people who have chosen to love Him, serve Him, and live in a close personal relationship with Him.
What we’ll be doing in the Kingdom, as the Messiah’s spouse, is what He designed us to be. We will be His loving spouse—like Jesus. John told us that.
Beloved, we are God’s children now;
it does not yet appear what we shall be,
but we know that when he appears we shall be like him,
for we shall see him as he is.
And every one who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
1 John 3:2&3 RSV
We will know as we are known. We will be equipped, by how we were designed, to be a real help to our King and Friend. This is why our instructions, given just before Paul explained the rapture, are:
we exhort you, brethren, to do so more and more, to aspire to live quietly, to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we charged you;
1 Thessalonians 4: 10-11 RSV
Part of that, of course, is to be a good witness to those He gives us to talk to, work with, and live with. We can be assured that He will do things in our lives which we can share as witnesses. I used to be a drug-crazed hippy acid freak heavily into the occult.
But it is also important to learn who we are & what talents and gifts we have been given. We need to gain skills, and get our spirit focused on who we are. Of course, this means you need to do a lot of talking with the Lord about these things. That’s how you’ll build the required personal relationship. The walk all starts with the other requirement—that we are born again from God. With those two things at the center of your life, you are ready to go when He calls.
