One of the kids took a video of me reading the Bible to Baby Beth last summer, and I shared it on Instagram with some hard-hitting Bible Health truths, and it went viral. It’s really interesting because it stirred up a bit of controversy and a bunch of debate….

Once in a while, we create content on Facebook Instagram that ends up going viral.

Not because it was clever. Because it was uncomfortable.

Every point on that list is something we have watched sincere, God fearing families do to themselves while believing they were being healthy. Twelve habits. Twelve blind spots. Twelve places where the culture has discipled us faster than the Word has.

We have been teaching Biblical health for more than twenty-three years, and the pattern has not changed. People rarely fail because they lack information. They fail because they have too much of it, from too many voices, with no filter strong enough to sort it.

An IG caption with a 2,000 character limit cannot carry that conversation.

So here is the long version...

Bible Health Transformation

You know something needs to change. The hard part is knowing where to start. Bible Health helps with Scripture-first teaching that replaces health confusion with Spirit-led clarity. Here is the post, and then the teaching behind it.

Advice I would give you as a Christian public health researcher of 22 years if I wasn’t afraid of hurting your feelings…

Let’s unpack each of these to help clear away any ambiguity with some additional reads from our Bible Health archive

“He who walks with wise men will be wise…” — Proverbs 13:20

You have never met them. They have never met you. Yet you take their word on what goes into your body, your medicine cabinet, and your children.

That one sided bond has a name. Psychologists call it a parasocial relationship, and social media is engineered to manufacture it. Familiarity feels like trust. It is not the same thing.

This includes us. We are grateful you are here, but we are not your pastor, your doctor, or your discernment. Weigh what we say. Then take it to God.

The people we allow to influence us shape us. Biblical wisdom emphasizes real relationships and carefully chosen counsel.

Truth is, social media relationships cannot replace human interaction…

“I will not be brought under the power of any.” — 1 Corinthians 6:12

Tech is the new Baal.

We do not bow to it. We just check it first thing in the morning, last thing at night, and roughly two hundred times in between. Ancient Israel built altars. We carry ours.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:2

Renewal requires quiet. You cannot hear God over notifications.

Your brain can change, your thoughts can be retrained & Scripture described it first…

“All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful…” — 1 Corinthians 10:23

Moderation is a beautiful word that has been drafted into service as an excuse.

Some things belong in the sometimes category. Some things belong in the never category. Sin does not get a cheat day. Neither does the seed oil in your salad dressing, the sugar you swear you have under control, or the spiritual apathy you have decided is just a season.

Call it what it is. Then decide what you are actually going to do about it.

“Everything is moderation” is a lie from the pit of hell, and creating proper guardrails is essential to abundant living…

If you’re tired of trying to sort through a thousand competing voices telling you how to live, eat, heal, parent, and take care of your family, you’re in the right place. Bible Health is about bringing those decisions back under the authority of Scripture and learning to discern truth from trends.

Test all things; hold fast what is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21

Notice the order. Test first. Hold on second.

Most people reverse it. They adopt the protocol, buy the supplement, cut the food group, and only test it later when it stops working. Trending is not the same as true. A confident face on camera is not evidence.

Ask three questions before you follow anyone. Who paid for this? Does it line up with Scripture? What fruit has it produced in real families over real time?

To survive in today’s information overload, AI-driven, influencer culture, we all need discernment

“Let all bitterness… be put away from you… forgiving one another…” — Ephesians 4:31-32

We have met people who filter their water, ditch their fragrance, and swap every plastic container in the kitchen while nursing a twenty year grudge against a parent.

Bitterness is not a metaphor problem. It is a physiology problem. Chronic resentment keeps the body in a stress state that no protocol can out supplement.

There is no detox for what only repentance and forgiveness can heal.

Forgiveness does not mean the wrong was acceptable. It means you are done carrying it in your body.

Harboring a forgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting someone else to be hurt...

“The simple believes every word, but the prudent considers well his steps.” — Proverbs 14:15

Creatine is the example everyone argues about, so let us use it.

Yes, your body makes creatine. Yes, it exists in beef and fish. But the powder in the tub was not scooped out of a steak. It is manufactured in a lab from petrochemical feedstocks, and the finished product can carry manufacturing byproducts depending on the source.

We are not telling you creatine is evil. We are telling you that your body makes it is not the same claim as this jar is natural, and a lot of the supplement aisle survives on that exact blur.

Know what you are swallowing and who made it.

Before Christians follow another synthetic supplement trend, we need to talk about real food, dosing, petrochemical & discernment…

“Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out.” — Proverbs 20:5

Pain is information. Fatigue is information. Bloating, brain fog, insomnia, and inflammation are all information.

We have been trained to treat the signal as the enemy. Silence it, suppress it, and move on. But muting the smoke alarm does not put out the fire.

Ask God for discernment. Ask better questions.

What changed? What am I eating, breathing, watching, carrying? What am I refusing to deal with?

Address the root. The message is a mercy.

Most chronic illness starts as a belief, not a symptom. The body just gets the memo last…

“Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” — Mark 6:31

Peace is a fruit of the Spirit. It is not a supplement stack.

You can drink the greens, take the magnesium, wear the ring that tracks your sleep, and still live at a pace that guarantees you will never recover. The body heals in rest. Rest requires margin. Margin requires saying no to things you have already said yes to.

That conversation is harder than any protocol. It is also the one that works.

The Bible calls it ‘stewardship,’ the world says ‘self-care,’ and what it look for everyone is different…

These twelve teachings are only the beginning. Every week, we help Christian families renew their minds, steward their bodies, strengthen their homes, and pursue the abundant life through practical, Scripture-first teaching.

“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

If your health journey has made you anxious in grocery stores, afraid of your own kitchen, and unable to eat at a friend’s table without a lecture, something has gone wrong.

That is not stewardship. That is bondage wearing a clean label.

God gave us a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. Anything that leaves you frantic and self focused is not from Him, no matter how organic it is.

When spiritual alignment is missing, even the best protocols turn into another idol that promises peace and quietly delivers exhaustion, and idols always disappoint sooner or later.

“Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” — James 1:22

This one is not popular, but it is the most freeing thing on the list.

You cannot rebuke what you continue to allow. We are not saying prayer does not work. We have seen God heal, and we will keep praying for it.

We are saying that asking God to remove a consequence while protecting its cause is not faith. It is avoidance with a spiritual vocabulary.

Obedience is often the answer to the prayer.

It’s not one big thing making you sick. It’s a thousand small ones, and your body has been keeping score…

"Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.” — Galatians 6:7

Spiritual warfare is real. So is sowing and reaping.

The enemy is delighted when we blame him for outcomes we built ourselves, because a battle we misdiagnose is a battle we cannot win. You do not need deliverance from a habit. You need repentance from it.

Repentance is not shame. It is the turn that changes the direction of everything downstream.

The one sin the church still refuses to talk about…

“But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.” — Hebrews 5:14

You do not need one hundred more opinions. You are drowning in opinions.

You need discernment, and the courage to obey what God has already shown you.

That is the whole point of all twelve.

Discernment is not skepticism, and it is not cynicism. It is the trained ability to tell the difference between what is true, what is merely popular, and what is being sold to you. Scripture says it belongs to those who have exercised their senses by practice. That word matters. Practice. You build it the same way you build anything else, by using it on small decisions until it is ready for the large ones.

The good news is that God is not stingy with it. He tells us plainly to ask for wisdom, and He gives it generously and without reproach.

So ask. Then act on what He shows you, even when the internet disagrees.

Most health advice focuses on the body. Scripture addresses the whole person…

Reading this changes nothing, where doing it changes everything.

Take all seven days, or pick one. The main thing is to get started…

  • Day 1. Unfollow five accounts that leave you anxious, inadequate, or afraid.

  • Day 2. Phone in a drawer from dinner until morning. Notice what you reach for instead.

  • Day 3. Write down every supplement you take. Answer honestly why you take each one.

  • Day 4. Forgiveness inventory. Name every person you are still holding something against. Take that list to God.

  • Day 5. Track one symptom you have been medicating and write down when it started and what changed.

  • Day 6. Cut one thing from your calendar. Protect the gap.

  • Day 7. Sabbath. No feeds, no research, no health content. Just God, your family, and rest.

Then tell us what you learned.

We read every comment. :)
