This is a very good Monday! Why!?
Well, when The Telepathy Tapes came out, it felt like a new ‘moment’ for us over here at MBB. It touched on so many things we love: what is science’s role in spiritual and extrasensory experiences? How do we know — or how CAN we know — if consciousness exists outside of the body? Can we know anything with certainty about our experience of reality!?
Well, tomorrow, after a long time working to make this happen, Dr. Diane Hennacy is joining us! Dr. Hennacy is the scientist and researcher whose research is featured in the first season of The Telepathy Tapes, but she joins us to discuss so much more.
She will, of course, discuss her role in the somewhat controversial podcast, The Telepathy Tapes, but she’ll also discuss what her career as a neuroscientist and neuropsychiatrist taught her, which led to her involvement in the exploration of non-speaking autistic abilities, paranormal and extrasensory perceptive abilities, and the question of consciousness as fundamental.
I’m so excited for this episode because she is a wonderful example of what incredible work there is surrounding special abilities. Telepathy is not her primary concern, and I think it’s not a lot of our primary concerns, either! But she works with a population of people who have been pushed aside, ignored, institutionalized, and disregarded for so long. And we are finally able to gather so much rich information about what is going on inside of their minds, what experiences they are having, and what it means for how we understand our very own minds and experiences.
Dr. Hennacy really is one of those scientists who laid the foundation for any conversation we are having about special abilities, and I can’t wait for you to hear what she has to say about her journey and what she has learned about the human capacity for greatness and beauty.
Have a great and beautiful week!
