Seriously... multiple covers, all in one newsletter!

Greetings, lovely humans!

Apparently, this whole “only one newsletter a month” thing… was a myth. I think this is evolving more into the first Thursday of the month I send flash fiction. And this third Thursday of the month? It’s for other announcements.

Today, I have some cover reveals for my upcoming books for ya! WOO HOO!!

But first… here’s my usual plug for all the books and stories I have out there, with their links:

Links: Lunar Logic | Robot Galaxy Series | Final Orbit | Objective Reality

I’m just gonna jump right in with some covers.

First up… the first of the T-Set books, T is for Time Travel!

Ready?

I am.

Here ya go!

To da!

What do you think???

I hope you like it as much as I do and are looking forward to the book!

I can’t show you the back side… it’s not done yet. For those who are curious about what goes on behind the scene in book production, when I take off my writing hat, and put on my project management hat… Before the back can be created (which is really the full cover… front, spine, and back), I need to be able to tell the cover designer exactly how many pages are in the book. And I can’t do that until the final edits are complete enough that I’m confident the number of pages won’t change. We’re close to that point…

But, I can let you read the blurb that will be on the back cover!

Here ya go!

Of course I would love to know what you think! (Especially since it’s not formally on the back cover yet, I have time to make edits!!

Now, on to the Annotated Robot Galaxy Series!

Remember that these are my 4 Robot Galaxy Series of books, all in one paperback volume. And annotated. That means throughout the book, I have footnotes all over the place that provide insights “behind the scenes.” How and why I came up with certain details. Do you remember Pop-Up Video on VH1 in the 90s? Think of it like that!

Now this is where it gets a little crazy.

There isn’t just one, but TWO covers for this book!

First, lemme show them… then I’ll ‘splain how that happened.

Here’s cover one:

And here’s the other!

Now here’s what happened:

My cover designer for these (ebooklaunch.com) gave me these two color palette options. I was leaning slightly towards the tealish one, but really couldn’t choose. I showed them to a couple friends and asked… and it was a 50/50 split! I then polled my Kickstarter backers (since they’re the ones who will have it in their hands first) and… it was still close to a 50/50 split!

So I had a conversation with myself about this:

Adeena: Can I have two cover versions?

Also Adeena: Why not?

It might have been the shortest convo I’ve had with myself in a while.

But they did need some other differing characteristic… they would need unique ISBN numbers and then something else unique, like calling them different editions. And well, using the color hex code seemed… fun and silly to me.

So there you have it. We have the #CC3333 Edition and the #00B3B3 Edition! The insides will be completely the same, so you get to choose which is your favorite!

For this one, the book is completely done and I do have the back cover which I can share (Just gonna share the one. The other is exactly the same except for the color):

(This is done so PLEASE don’t find any errors!! LOL Ok, if you find one… the book hasn’t been printed yet so I can get it fixed if I need to…)

If it’s still unclear what I mean by “annotated,” here’s a sample page from the inside of the book:

Not every page has *that* many footnotes, and many have none, but there are a lot of details in there! I really enjoyed putting this together.

And that’s it!

At least as far as books and covers go.

Keep reading…. there’s still a bit more newsletter content.

Meanwhile… find another Indie to read!

Keep reading because I routinely participate in group promotions with other Indie Authors. This is one of the ways we help each other get the word our about our books. There are a couple this month! Check out all sorts of fiction here — including not just one, but two promos dedicated to audiobooks!

What’s next?

Expect a new piece of flash fiction in December… so that’s part of what’s next.

Getting these books to the publication phase is big on the agenda. As is finishing the writing (it’s drafted, now I’m going back and re-writing) the second T-Set book: T is for Tangent (formerly known as T is for Trajectory. I’ll explain the name change another day.)

Today’s bonus picture?

That’s Ruby and her new “toy”… aka my son’s work boot. The pic is a little blurry because she was quite active while I was trying to take some pictures of her, and Ruby took this moment to give me a look of “Mom! Just let me play in peace!” or “Mom! What? You’ve seen me play before…” or… Anyone else want to suggest a caption?

All always, thanks for being here and reading all of stuff. Remember you can reply anytime with questions/comments/feedback!

Until next time… be kind, be well!
