…And in that case I’m in VT, RI, NC and GA before the summer ends. Look I am one of the people who considers August to be summer but in my mind’s calendar (which is influenced by my paper planner) only June and July make the hard cut for summer. June is the little sibling of July which has scribbles of yellow suns, water splashes and fireworks. August is still summer until that last week when school starts and fall begins. I thought we could all agree that September is fall but I searched and found that summer officially ends September 22. I wrote a poem in third grade entitled “Fall” because it was my favorite season. It was selected for print in the 1994 Anthology of Poetry by Young Americans, but I now suspect it was probably a grift to get parents to buy the anthology. Maybe that’s pessimistic, but of course mom ordered it.

Bright colors coming from the trees

Kitty cats itching their fleas

Candy corn and pumpkin pie

I think it’s superb to my eye

Acorns on the ground crunching under your feet

Now it’s almost time to eat

I don’t know how we got here. It’s late July and I’m in Pittsburgh at The Improv Comedy Club tonight and tomorrow. I usually take July off for a little summer break but I guess Pittsburgh is the exception this year (technically I’m in Homestead, PA).

I just walked three miles in ninety degree heat to Pigeon Bagels to visit my friend Lyla who runs it with her sisters. One sister being Elaine who was also working today. She’s a big fan of my boyfriend Adam’s older brother Kyle Newacheck whose movie Happy Gilmore 2 comes out today on Netflix! It’s really funny! Adam and I went to cheer him on at the premiere in New York City this past Monday. This is a photo of family and friends and Jaleel White.

Brandon Dermer, me, Adam Newacheck, Kyle Newacheck, Marisa Newacheck, Chloe Bridges, Adam Devine, Blake Anderson, Jaleel White, and on bended knee: Carter Hambley (look for him in the Jeopardy scene in HG2!)

I loved Family Matters as a kid so I was quietly thrilled to be in a photo with Jaleel. You may know most of these funny guys from Workaholics which they created and starred in, and my funny, sweet, talented boyfriend also directed! A talented bunch. Which is why I asked Adam Newacheck to direct my latest stand-up The Landlord Special. It premiered on Veeps July 2! A heartfelt thank you to all of you who tuned in. If you didn’t have the energy to click the link and purchase it and then click another link emailed to you in order to watch it… I will be putting it on my YouTube channel for you next Saturday.

Until then, I hope to see you on the road.

Love,

Beth
