Welcome back to this little corner of the internet where we go beyond the clothes and into the deeper conversations. If you’re new here, welcome. And if you’ve been here for a while, thank you for continuing to show up for this journey.
About eleven years ago, after I underwent emergency brain surgery, I began what would become one of the greatest journeys of my life: getting curious about myself and the world.
I was 27 years old, right at the beginning of what astrologers call a Saturn return. This is the period when Saturn returns to the same position it occupied at the moment of your birth and many believe this profound change and transformation. This rang true for me.
I started asking questions I had never really asked before. Why am I the way I am? What do I truly like? What parts of myself feel authentic, and what parts have simply been inherited through conditioning? What beliefs am I ready to let go of? Who do I want to become? Do I like me?
Before then, I was living mostly on autopilot. I was ambitious, and I knew I wanted specific things out of life, but I hadn’t yet realized that creating the life I wanted would require understanding myself first. I wasn’t asking who I needed to become to create the life I desired. I was simply trying to do all the “right” things, hoping they would eventually get me there.
Along the way, I’ve explored countless modalities in an effort to better understand myself and reconnect with my true self. Therapy, Reiki, books, courses, meditation, psychics, hypnosis, past life regression, astrology... each one has offered a different lens through which to view my life. Some resonated more deeply than others, but every experience taught me something.
The one I want to share with you today, though, is the tool that has had one of the biggest impacts on how I understand myself: Human Design.
