Living Streets returns this weekend!
We’re so excited to announce our first Living Streets walk of 2026! Take a stroll with us this Saturday, March 28 along the False Creek Seawall all the way from Stamps Landing to the iconic Kits Beach. The walk starts at 12pm and will last one hour.
WALK30 starts next week!
WALK30 is just a week away and we can’t wait to walk with you! Help us highlight the importance of building safe, walkable streets - and have a chance to win great prizes. While the goal is to walk 30 minutes each day in April, any amount of daily walking enters you to win a grand prize $500 gift card to MEC. You can also join in on one of four free guided walks.
Federal active transportation funding at risk
In 2024, the Federal Government allocated $500 million for active transportation projects for municipal and First Nation governments. However, following the release of the Federal Budget 2025, this funding is now at risk. Help ensure these funds remain available for active transportation projects in BC.
Advocacy to support better transportation for seniors
The Provincial Working Group on Seniors’ Transportation, co-chaired by BEST Mobility and the United Way of BC, is advocating for a transportation system that works better for older adults. The group has developed five focus areas, including Safer Streets for Seniors, and an ask that the Province reinstate the BC Active Transportation Infrastructure Grants Program.
